Explore. Compare. Make it yours.

Therma-Tru door options go well beyond picking a color. The door style, glass, surface and surrounding entry all change how your home looks and how the entrance feels. Hannapel’s new interactive exterior-door catalog lets you explore those decisions online, then bring a clearer idea to a local specialist.

Start with a Craftsman profile, a contemporary glass layout or a woodgrain look. Open a product page to try the choices shown for that style and see the entry preview respond. You can plan from home before visiting one of our Southwest Michigan showrooms.

Customize your look online; confirm the complete system with Hannapel.

The catalog is an interactive visual planning tool. It is not online checkout or an order-ready manufacturer specification. Choices and compatibility vary by model, size and glass. Preview colors, component proportions and reference measurements need confirmation before ordering.

1. I want clean Craftsman lines and a painted finish

Smooth-Star Craftsman lite Shaker

A broad upper glass opening and two simple lower panels give this smooth fiberglass door a balanced profile. It is a useful starting point when you want the paint color to carry the design.

Try on the product page: compare Clear with Chord glass, then explore Onyx or Indigo paint. Clear favors a view through the glass; Chord adds texture and greater privacy. These choices are shown in this style’s live controls; confirm the resulting model and size with Hannapel.

2. I like a Craftsman shape with a warm woodgrain appearance

Fiber-Classic Mahogany Craftsman

The FCM4810 starting style pairs the same broad Craftsman glass opening with a mahogany-grain fiberglass surface. It offers a different direction when you want texture and a wood-inspired entry.

Explore the finish direction: compare stain choices such as Acorn and Driftwood, or consider paint while retaining the molded grain. Therma-Tru lists both stain and paint options for this style family. Use the available product controls, then compare samples on the actual grain you plan to order.

3. I want a contemporary door with repeated glass openings

Smooth-Star Pulse Ari three-lite

Three stacked glass openings create a modern rhythm across a smooth fiberglass slab. Consider this starting point if your entry has simple trim and you prefer geometric detail to traditional panels.

Try on the product page: compare the clear and textured glass choices displayed for this layout, then explore its paint previews. Changing glass does not turn a three-lite door into another door style; use the similar-door links when you want a different arrangement.

How to customize a Therma-Tru door on Hannapel’s website

  1. Browse the exterior-door catalog. Search for a style, compare the pictured doors and open a product that fits your direction. The dollar symbols indicate relative investment, not a price or quote.
  2. Start with glass. On the product page, use the glass choices to compare the documented appearances for that door. Where shown, expand the section for additional choices. A glass selection may change the manufacturer model number.
  3. Explore color and finish. Try the offered paint or stain previews. The preview helps you compare the overall look; it cannot reproduce a physical sample under your porch lighting.
  4. Work through the entry. Review the displayed entry and sidelite layouts, transoms, sizes and frame choices. Treat dimensions as reference information until your opening and the complete assembly have been checked.
  5. Review before requesting help. Open “Your design review” and note what is selected and what is undecided. The product page’s quote-request option starts a conversation with Hannapel; it does not place an order or generate a guaranteed final price.

You do not need every answer before contacting us. A favorite door style, glass direction and finish name are enough to make the first conversation more useful.

Choose the glass for the way you use your entry

Think about what sits behind the front door. If it opens directly into a living room, privacy may matter more than an uninterrupted view. If your foyer feels dark, the amount and position of glass can be the first decision.

Clear glass keeps the view open. Textured glass changes how clearly you can see through it. Decorative glass adds a pattern and may combine different textures. A privacy rating is useful for comparison, but lighting and distance still affect what is visible. Review a real sample rather than treating a high rating as a blackout guarantee.

Grilles create another visual choice where offered. Compare the pattern with nearby windows, and keep it simple enough that the entry still feels connected to the house. Glass designs and grille patterns are specific to the door family and opening; every choice is not available in every size.

Paint or stain starts with the door surface

A smooth fiberglass door such as Smooth-Star is a natural starting point for a painted look. Woodgrain fiberglass provides texture that can support a stained appearance or remain visible under paint. Therma-Tru’s FCM4810 manufacturer page lists both finish directions, while its S4810 page lists paint choices.

Compare the door with your siding, brick, roof and trim instead of choosing a swatch in isolation. A deep paint color can define a light-colored entry; a warmer stain direction can connect with natural materials. Check samples outside in daylight and in the shade of your own porch.

For the finishing process, frame finishes and a closer look at the palette, read our Therma-Tru door color and PrismaGuard prefinishing guide. The manufacturer also publishes its current finishing options; final availability depends on the selected product and order.

The complete entry needs more than a door style

Sidelites are the glass panels beside a door; a transom sits above it. They can change the scale and daylight of the entry, but adding them to an existing opening is a project decision as well as a design choice. A double-door preview is not proof that your existing opening can accept double doors.

Before ordering, review the door and glass model, slab and unit dimensions, swing and handing, frame depth and material, threshold, weather-sealing, hardware preparation and all finish surfaces with Hannapel. Any special performance or code requirements also belong in that review. Specify the frame finish separately from the door finish.

For a Southwest Michigan replacement project, bring a photo of the outside and inside of the entry, rough measurements and any concerns about drafts, water or the existing frame. For new construction, bring the plans and opening information. This helps the conversation move from an attractive preview to the details your project actually needs.

If you are still deciding between collections, our Smooth-Star, Fiber-Classic and Classic Craft comparison covers that separate decision in more depth.
