New product preview · Planned for 2027

What is the Andersen 500 Series?

Andersen has announced the 500 Series, a new aluminum-clad window and door collection planned for launch in 2027. Its April 2026 dealer communication outlined a more contemporary design, a streamlined color selection including Graphite Grey, a broader size grid, updated hardware, and refinements to fit and finish.

Exact launch timing, complete specifications and project pricing were not included in the announcements we reviewed. Here is what we know so far and how it can help you plan.

If you are researching Andersen 500 Series windows for a new home, addition or remodel in Southwest Michigan, the announcement is worth watching. It signals a new direction for Andersen’s aluminum-clad offering, with the manufacturer aiming to make that category accessible to a wider range of projects.

Andersen 500 Series features announced so far

The announcement describes the direction of the collection. It does not give enough detail to select an order-ready configuration. These are the main points Andersen shared:

  • Aluminum-clad windows and doors. Andersen identified 500 Series as its new aluminum-clad portfolio. Do not confuse that description with an all-aluminum window system.
  • A more contemporary appearance. Andersen is emphasizing modern design and features. Specific frame profiles, sightlines and product drawings still need confirmation.
  • A focused color selection, including Graphite Grey. The new color was named in the announcement; the complete palette and finish availability by product were not supplied.
  • A broader size grid. This points to more sizing choices, but it does not establish maximum dimensions for a particular window or door.
  • Updated hardware and refined fit and finish. Handle designs, hardware finishes and the details of those refinements should be checked against the eventual product literature.

In a July update, Andersen also said the 13 most frequently ordered E-Series specialty shapes would remain available in E-Series and be included in the future 500 Series collection. That is useful news for projects with shaped windows, although the exact shape, dimensions and configuration still need to be verified.

When will Andersen 500 Series be available, and what will it cost?

The announced launch year is 2027. The communications we reviewed do not establish a specific first-order date, delivery date or rollout schedule for Southwest Michigan. A planned launch year should not be used as a guaranteed delivery commitment for a construction schedule.

Andersen described pricing intended to bring aluminum-clad products within reach of more projects. That is a statement about market positioning, not a published price list. It does not establish a percentage savings against E-Series, an installed price per window or a whole-home budget.

For a useful quote, the product schedule must identify window style, dimensions, glass, finish, hardware and installation scope. Two estimates with different sizes or installation work are not a reliable price comparison. Our Southwest Michigan window replacement cost guide explains the factors to organize before requesting estimates.

How does 500 Series relate to E-Series?

500 Series is the next announced step in Andersen’s aluminum-clad offering. Andersen’s April message also said it would continue supporting E-Series business through 2026 while simplifying some E-Series options.

That supports planning for a transition, but it does not establish a single discontinuation date for every E-Series product. What Southwest Michigan homeowners should do now

Start with the needs of the house. A lake-facing room in South Haven, an addition in Kalamazoo and a replacement project in St. Joseph can have very different priorities for views, ventilation, maintenance and timing.

  1. Set the project schedule. Tell your specialist when the openings must be ready. A 2026 installation needs an available product; a flexible 2027 build may have room to evaluate the new collection.
  2. List the design requirements. Bring photos, approximate dimensions, preferred operating styles and any specialty shapes. Identify which choices are essential.
  3. Confirm performance for the actual configuration. Compare the published U-factor, solar heat gain coefficient and other applicable ratings when product data becomes available. A series name alone does not tell you how a particular unit will perform.
  4. Compare the available alternatives. Our Andersen window series comparison can help you discuss existing collections while 500 Series details develop.

Andersen 500 Series: common questions

Is Andersen 500 Series real?

Yes. Andersen named the new collection in its April 7, 2026 communication to dealers and referred to it again in its July specialty-shape updates. It is an announced future product line, with a planned 2027 launch.

Can I order Andersen 500 Series now?

The announcements reviewed for this article do not establish an open ordering date. Contact Hannapel to check the latest local ordering and availability information before building your schedule around it.

Is Graphite Grey confirmed?

Yes. Andersen named Graphite Grey as part of the planned color offering. The announcements did not provide a complete color chart or confirm finish availability for every product.
