How Much Do KraftMaid Cabinets Cost? (2026 Quote Guide)
Hannapel buying guide · Cabinet quotes
Already considering KraftMaid? This guide helps you understand your Hannapel cabinet quote and work through the selections that shape your budget. For brand strengths, tradeoffs and early budget allowances, read our KraftMaid review.
The quick answer
KraftMaid cabinets are priced for your layout and selections, so there is no single reliable price for “a KraftMaid kitchen.” A useful budget separates the cabinet order, the cost to install it, and the rest of the remodel. At Hannapel, the useful next step is to work through your room, priorities and selections with a designer so your budget becomes a specific plan.
KraftMaid says cabinet type, size, door style, wood species, finish and construction upgrades affect cost, and each retailer sets its own prices. A Hannapel design consultation helps connect those choices to your actual room; multiplying floor area by a cabinet price cannot do that. Read KraftMaid’s pricing explanation.
01 / Define the number
One kitchen. Three different budgets.
“Our cabinets cost this much” can describe very different purchases. When you talk through your budget with your Hannapel designer, identify which of these numbers you mean.
The cabinet order
Cabinet boxes, doors and drawers, plus the specified finished ends, fillers, panels, trim and storage accessories. Ask whether decorative knobs and pulls are included.
Cabinets in place
The order, plus applicable delivery, tax and installation. Clarify removal, disposal, fitting trim, hardware installation and final adjustments.
The complete remodel
Installed cabinets, plus countertops, appliances, plumbing, electrical work, flooring and any other work in your plan. Keep a separate allowance for unresolved conditions.

02 / Follow the specification
What changes a KraftMaid cabinet quote?
Two kitchens with similar floor areas can need very different cabinet orders. Use the questions below to turn a total price into decisions you can actually evaluate.
Swipe the planning table sideways to read all three columns. Keyboard users: focus the table area and use the arrow keys.
| Choice | What to review | Useful question |
|---|---|---|
| Quantity & configuration | Cabinet widths and heights, tall pantry units, drawer bases, corners and island cabinetry. | “Can I see the cabinet schedule with every size and quantity?” |
| Door & material | The exact door style, overlay and center-panel material—not just “white Shaker.” | “What changes if we keep this look but compare another available door?” |
| Finish | Exact color and finish treatment on each part of the kitchen, including a contrasting island. | “Please price my first choice and one alternative on the same plan.” |
| Construction | Product line, case construction, interior finish and any specified upgrades. | “Which features are standard in this line, and which are added?” |
| Storage | Drawers, roll-outs and organizers by cabinet location. Avoid a vague “accessories included.” | “What would we save by changing this one storage solution?” |
| Finishing details | Exposed ends, appliance panels, fillers, toe kicks, crown and other decorative pieces. | “Does the order include every piece shown in the drawing?” |
A door’s appearance does not tell you its specification
KraftMaid’s door-budget guidance identifies wood type, overlay and center-panel construction as price factors. That is why two doors that look similar in a small photo can produce different quotes. See the manufacturer’s door comparison.
For the broader material and construction comparison, use our KraftMaid review. For your Hannapel quote, confirm the selected door material, finish and construction so you understand exactly what is being planned.
Know what your selected product line includes
KraftMaid’s FAQ says Vantage is sold through independent dealers and includes the all-plywood construction upgrade and matching interiors for glass-door cabinets as standard. It shares the core line’s style choices and warranty. Ask your Hannapel designer to identify the product line on your quote and explain which features are standard and which are upgrades. Verify the current product-line differences.
Review the project scope with your designer as well: measuring, design revisions, delivery arrangements, installation responsibility and the contact for order questions. Confirm what applies to your project and what is charged separately; a product-line feature is not the same thing as an included service.
03 / Build the plan with Hannapel
A cabinet quote starts with how you want to use the room.
A cabinet list cannot tell the whole story of a kitchen. The layout, appliance openings, storage and finish details need to work together. Hannapel’s design process brings those decisions into one conversation: talk through the room and budget, review layouts and real samples, then confirm the measurements and selections before ordering.
Set your priorities
Share your total project budget and the parts of your current kitchen that do not work. Identify three priorities—perhaps accessible pot storage, more preparation space or a particular finish—so the design has a clear starting point.
See the choices together
Review cabinet layouts, door and finish samples, storage options and appliance placement with your Hannapel designer. Seeing those selections together helps you judge what a change adds to the room, as well as what it adds to the quote.
Refine the specification
If the design is above your budget, ask which choices are driving the total. Work through a different door, a simpler decorative detail or a revised storage option within the same Hannapel plan. Confirm the revised selections and price before approval.
Understand the value behind the cabinet list
Hannapel’s kitchen design help covers cabinet layout, storage, work areas, countertops, finishes and appliance placement. Its showrooms let you review product samples in person. That guidance helps you make connected decisions instead of choosing every part of the room in isolation.
For example, choosing a drawer base is a decision about what you will store and where you will reach for it. Choosing an island finish also means thinking about the visible sides, seating area and surrounding cabinetry. Use your design appointment to work through those details and understand what your final selections include.
Ask your designer to explain the services and responsibilities listed for your own project. Delivery, installation and other work should be confirmed in the proposal; this guide does not assume they are included in every cabinet order.
Why a 10 × 10 price or a linear-foot price is not your kitchen quote
A sample-layout price describes a particular cabinet list. Your room may have different windows, appliance openings, corners, heights or storage needs. A linear-foot figure also leaves an important question unanswered: what is actually included in that length?
For example, a stretch of simple base cabinets and a stretch containing a tall pantry do not describe the same purchase. Ask for the sample layout and exclusions before using a headline number as a benchmark. Never scale a sample price by floor area and treat the result as an order total.
The KraftMaid project cost calculator can help explore a renovation budget. Its output is an estimate based on selections, not a Hannapel cabinet quote. Online totals are most useful when you can identify their date, location and included work.
04 / Protect what matters
Where should you spend—or simplify?
Start with what frustrates you about the kitchen you use today. Then work with your Hannapel designer to refine one plan around your priorities and budget. Open the situation closest to yours.
“The quote is over budget, but I like the layout.”
Ask your Hannapel designer to keep the layout fixed while exploring a different door or finish and simpler decorative details. Ask for each change to be priced separately. KraftMaid suggests considering a comparable veneer-center-panel door as one potential saving. Availability and savings depend on the actual selections. Read KraftMaid’s ways to save.
Protect the items that make the design fit and function: required fillers, appliance clearances and finished surfaces should not disappear just to make the proposal look less expensive.
“I cook every day and hate digging into lower cabinets.”
Prioritize the specific storage locations you use most. Compare drawers, roll-outs and shelves for those locations before adding specialty organizers throughout the kitchen. Bring a short list of the pots, small appliances and pantry items that need homes.
Our drawers vs. roll-outs vs. shelves guide helps you choose the function. Your itemized quote should show its cost.
“I want a furniture-style island without upgrading everything.”
Ask for the island’s door, finish, finished sides and decorative pieces as a clearly identified group. Compare a simpler perimeter and a more detailed island against your original plan. Review all visible sides in the drawing, especially the seating side.
This is a design option to price, not a guaranteed saving. Keep seating clearances, storage and countertop support coordinated with the final layout.
“The room is awkward, and we keep adding modifications.”
Ask your designer to show which dimensions are driving the changes. Compare a revised layout before paying to preserve a difficult one. If the required fit exceeds the available options, compare semi-custom and custom cabinetry on the same functional requirements.
Keep the conversation focused on a design that fits the room, supports your daily routine and works within your project budget.
05 / Bring this to the design appointment
Review your Hannapel quote before ordering
Use these questions to review the proposal and drawings with your Hannapel designer. Confirm any open decisions and have the final scope documented before ordering.
- Is the room measured and the layout identified? Confirm the drawing revision, ceiling height, windows, doorways and appliance models. Early measurements help planning; final ordering dimensions need verification.
- Is the cabinet order specific? Look for the product line, cabinet codes, quantities, dimensions, door style, material, finish and construction.
- Are the finishing pieces included? Check exposed ends, island backs, appliance panels, fillers, toe kicks, molding and decorative hardware.
- Are storage upgrades located? Identify each drawer base, roll-out or organizer on the plan, with alternatives priced separately.
- Who handles each service? Clarify measuring, delivery, removal, disposal, installation, trim work, hardware fitting and adjustments.
- What is outside the total? Identify taxes, freight and any excluded labor or materials. Keep countertops and other trades visible in the overall budget.
- What happens after approval? Confirm quote validity, deposit and payment terms, change policies, expected timing, delivery inspection and the contact for missing or damaged items.

Questions worth asking before you buy
Does a cabinet price include installation?
Only if the proposal says so. Ask for the cabinet order and installation scope to be identified separately, including removal, trim, hardware fitting and adjustments. “Installed” should describe actual tasks, not just a label beside a total.
Can I start before I know every cabinet selection?
Yes. Hannapel’s design process starts with what you have: photos, rough measurements, plans or a basic idea. Bring your budget range and priorities. Your designer can help organize the selections and identify what needs to be confirmed before ordering.
Should I use the budget ranges in Hannapel’s KraftMaid review?
The ranges in our existing review are preliminary planning allowances, not verified current quotes for your kitchen. Confirm scope and current pricing with a designer before committing to a budget. This guide explains how to turn that early allowance into a specific proposal.
What if my Hannapel design is over budget?
Tell your designer which features matter most and ask to work through the cost-driving selections one at a time. A different door, finish, decorative treatment or storage configuration may help. Review the revised plan and actual price together; no particular change guarantees a saving.
